Description and Information

Bishampton & Throckmorton Rights of Way

40 Km of ROW

135 Footpaths

During this past year, the local ROW have provided an important means for many in our villages to exercise, keep fit, have some leisure, and space to keep our energy levels up! The footpaths have been well used.

Over the years a local gang of enthusiasts have helped to check, repair and improve the Rights of Way in our Parishes. We have managed to undertake minor works over the past year but there is more to do.

This “Rights of Way Group” the RAG – has lost some members and needs re-energising. We know that a couple of younger villagers are willing to help but can you?

We are really keen to gather some more helpers to undertake simple tasks that will permit works such as:

  • Check paths and report any issues to us
  • Carry out vegetation clearance during the summer months
  • Installation of some more steps up the Bishampton Bank beside the golf course
  • Replace the “wonky” footbridge along Gunnings Lane.
  • Replace a Gate post beside the Whitsun Brook

Just like our own gardens, the ROW network does “not look after itself”! The County Council continues to help with gates and signage but we need some more local helpers.

If you can spare any time we would be pleased to hear from you – Call Phil on 462603
